product - ASTM A320 L7 Bolts

Introduction to ASTM A320 L7 Bolts

Standards and SURFACE TREATMENT

  • ASME B18.31.1M – Metric Continuous and Double-End Studs.
  • Grade L7 bolts often require surface treatment to enhance corrosion resistance in harsh environments. Common finishes include zinc plating, cadmium plating, Teflon (PTFE) coating, or hot-dip galvanizing. Baking is strictly required after electroplating to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.

Materials and practicality

  • ASTM A320 Standard Specification for Alloy-Steel and Stainless Steel Bolting for Low-Temperature Service.
  • Grade L7 bolts are specifically designed for low-temperature service. They are widely used in oil and gas pipelines, petrochemical facilities, LNG plants, and pressure vessels. Their extreme cryogenic toughness prevents brittle fracturing in severe sub-zero environments.

Excellent performance visualization

In oil and gas pipelines, ASTM A320 L7 bolts secure critical flange joints, valves, and compressors. Their high tensile strength and superior low-temperature impact toughness prevent brittle fracturing and leaking under extreme sub-zero conditions and high pressure.

Full Traceability

At HOTFORGE INDUSTRIAL LIMITED, traceability is a complete system linking each fastener to its raw material heat number, MTC (3.1/3.2), and production batch. From forging and heat treatment to machining, surface finishing, and inspection, all processes are recorded and fully traceable.

Each bolt is also marked on the head with manufacturer logo, material grade, and strength class for easy identification. All test results and production data are stored and connected to each batch, ensuring full transparency and reliable quality control for industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation.
